Who are we when we take off our covers? When we question beliefs that we already established as children.
The great Brené Brown has been researching the power of shame and vulnerability for years ( to the TED Talk ). She believes that vulnerability is not a weakness, but rather a strength. Every time we try to hide our vulnerability, we move a little further away from ourselves. This may make you unassailable in the long run, but it also makes you lonely. With my pictures I want to express that vulnerability and strength, perfection and imperfection always coexist within us, that there are moments when being weak means being strong and that it is at least worth considering tearing down our own walls.
